There are about 2000 buildings named as Venetian Villas built between the 15th and 18th centuries. Most of them were private houses, owner’s residences and homes for the farm workers and holidays residences along the Brenta River. That was the best period for the region, being the decadence of feudal castles and also the end of the wars for commercial against Genova, Milan, Ferrara and the Ottomans, when Venice Republic was trying to extend its territory. With the peace, in fact, Venice, realized that agriculture could be more profitable and safer than mercantile and commercial activities. The great aristocratic families started to entrust the most famous architects, painters and sculptors of that time, who gave birth to extraordinary works of art.
